Fitness tracking is one of the Apple Watch’s most popular features, and this fall it is introducing sleep tracking for the Watch. When it launches, it will roll out to tens of millions of users. (Apple will likely soon pass 100 million cumulative Watch sales, if it hasn’t already.) Oura, meanwhile, is approaching 200,000 rings sold.
The scene has become popular, and commensurate with that the quality has gone down. There’s an infinite number of fresh fund managers who will gladly deploy capital to these enterprise dabblers in the hopes of the team “figuring it out later”. Once an idea becomes popular, selection becomes harder.

The economy is interconnected. There are a lot of reasons newspapers have died off. Some were out of their control. I imagine a future where there are plenty of local publications that serve their communities with smart reporting, structured data sets around important issues and great ad products for marketers.
