Then we started seeing the rise of native advertising. It fit more naturally into the experience. Fast forward, we’re now seeing this trend where the ad carries a semblance of brand validation.
1) Start small and slowly. Nothing kills a budding Community like trying to cram 500 people into one place quickly and telling them to "connect". You need to bring people in 5-10 at a time: introduce them to one other, start discussions and tag people with applicable expertise.

Advertising-supported mass media enables people to unite in support of a common cause and rebel against tyranny. Rebellion is a coordination problem. Even if all the citizens despise their leadership, they cannot coordinate without common knowledge.
