I usually go to the mall to perform a kind of an anthropological expedition once a year and I see nothing there which interests me.

Not being caught up and controlled by trends, political narratives, hunger, momentary pain, other peoples' opinions, comfort.

The more you are controlled, the less autonomy you own.

When we buy a product, we essentially “hire” it to help us do a job. If it does the job well, the next time we’re confronted with the same job, we tend to hire that product again. I left pretty much all tracking websites (last.fm, goodreads, letterboxd) and let me tell you, it feels great to not carry a big list of numbers around with me, I’m like a tiny fluffy cloud of indifference floating through existence, broadcasting nothing and just taking it the view.
