the problem with urban planning is, that it’s worsening the things it wants to solve - look at the ecological crisis. Every concrete ecological solution to “fix” urban planning is devalued in being rooted in the exact sources, that are causing the problems.

Wie wird ein Gebäude/Raum genutzt?

Was machen die NutzerInnen damit? Wie verändern sie es? Welche Nutzungen fügen sie hinzu?

Kaum fehlt Wohnraum, erschallt die reflexartige Antwort: “Baut Wohnungen!” - ohne zu fragen, was Wohnraum heissen soll, wie heute gewohnt wird und welchen sozialen, politischen, kulturellen und ökonomischen Rahmenbedingungen das Bauen folgt.
