Zone of Desire

Niv Tishbi writes: The installation features dozens of folding chairs, sunbeds, side tables, and parasols—elements familiar from a beach setup—arranged throughout the museum's outdoor terrace.⁠ Human figures, depicted in various stages of relaxation and sunbathing, are merged into the fabric of the sunbeds and chairs. ⁠ The figures are sewn onto the metal frames, creating a hybrid, or mutation, between objects representing rest, comfort, and freedom, and the human body itself. Merging with the furniture, the figures become mass-produced items that reflect our common desires: comfort, abundance, and tranquility. ⁠ @nivu_san⁠ ⁠ Dear Niv, This is lovely and sweet and I very much hope that these folding chairs are usable for the museum visitors and not presented as a fenced-off installation.
