The biggest step nobody talks about with writing is surrendering to the person you actually are and realizing it is the material you are required to work with; it is humiliating and relaxing, and you have to go through it over and over again

I also have a thing where I think the longer you make your album, the less confidence you have in it. I love short albums, I think they’re cool. It’s a good thing if you’re able to keep the listener in mind and construct something that’s done and dusted within 40 minutes. Under 40 is the aim now, always.
