Honestly, I feel parenthood is a cult. Parents know what it’s like on the inside yet refuse to be completely honest incase they scare away any new members. They may touch on the surface of discontent yet continuously exclaim “but it’s all worth it for the good bits!”. Which I have deemed is about 4.7%.

One thing that does make me laugh is the stereotype of a life unfulfilled with no children. There is this assumption that I will wake up in the dead of night at 42, sweating, sad, heartbroken to find there is a huge child shaped hole in my life and that everything is meaningless without becoming a mother.
