I find my heart breaking when I excitedly show my family and friends an extremely intentional piece of art that i created, only to hear “Blacks not my favorite color” or “honestly i would change this small intentional detail to this much more basic thing that you can find everywhere else.”
When things like this happen it alienates me from them
... See morerelieved in the pursuit of understanding. I’ve learned to fall in love with that word — understanding — because an understanding shows that we are connecting the dots in our mind, even if we disagree with the idea.
