Thats so true btw. I mean I still feel that sharing snippets online would help the right people discover you, but the fact that that isnt the main focus, relieves me of the pressures of viewer as a marker for success. I can create, and build a digital home for my new friends to hang out in at the same time. Its also good because it gets people to pause their doomscrolling and to hang out on a site thats a slower pace than theyre used to.
instead of “building an audience,” build a world. build a digital garden-ecosystem, that exists — first and primarily — for itself. a world that doesn’t need likes, traffic, subscribers, or clicks — in order to validate its existence.
