To be pure in heart, in other words, means to keep the first and great commandment', which is that Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.'

The Christian has arrived at a sufficient measure of sorrow when the love of sin is purged out.

We long to praise you, though we are burdened by our mortality. Though we are conscious of sin, we long to praise you.
