I meet a lot of people searching for something (career, relationship, etc). And yet, when it’s put in front of them, they won’t pursue it because they fear pain (getting hurt, failure, etc.). So they unconsciously (and expensively) trade self protection for misery.
Recently asked, “What are the ten biggest ideas that changed your life?” Great/hard question. Here's where I landed...
1) Imago Dei: Every person is inherently valuable independent of behavior and beliefs. Everyone matters. Treat people accordingly, without exception.
Are you playing on easy mode or hard mode? What can you do to put things on an easier setting? Go back to basics. What’s one thing you can do today that will make tomorrow easier? What can you can do this year that will leave you in a better position for next year?
If you haven’t stepped out of your comfort zone in a while, it might be time to try.
Experiencing the unfamiliar allows us to practice being agile, because we’re not always able to default to our usual cognitive response patterns in new contexts.
