A great deal of advice can be framed in terms of: "do what gives you energy"
1) Surround yourself people that inspire you, not people that put you down
2) Do stuff you like, because that gives you more energy -> feedback loop of energy and interest and focus

Perhaps the best career advice I’ve heard is to lower the stakes. When we loosen our grip on the “right” path to pursue, we open ourselves to what the universe has to offer.

Generic, uncontextualized advice is a menace- by definition it attracts the lost and the confused and only makes them more lost and more confused.
