Raw and powerful documentary. One Day One Day by A Thing By (Olmo and friends) tells the story of the lives of the people living in a parallel society of immigrants in Puglia, Italy – a place that welcomes and swallows them. Despite the extreme conditions these people live in, I was touched by how they preserve and cultivate their humanity, dignity, hopes, and dreams. I have deep admiration for Olmo's (and the guys’) work. A year later after the release, they opened a free school using the profits from the film – dedicated to one of the main characters who was killed in an accident in 2022 while he was coming back from work in his bike.
