In der Arbeitswelt war ich dann am sichersten, als ich es geschafft habe, dass Menschen mich für eine Performance dieser Art gehalten haben. Extra authentic, extra edgy, aber nur in dem Rahmen, der zu ihrem Bild eines Kreativen gepasst hat. Ich versuchte zu lernen, in welchem Rahmen ich meine ‘Edginess’ ausleben durfte, ohne in unsichere Gefilde zu kommen. So ging es mir bereits in der Schulzeit, als ich gleichzeitig ausgelacht und bewundert wurde: Du hast immer dein Ding gemacht, du warst immer so anders und hast das einfach durchgezogen. Aber sobald ich den Bogen sozusagen überspannte, etwas außerhalb ihres Bildes einer angepasst-unangepassten Person getan habe, wurde ich belächelt, beschämt, ausgeschlossen. Ich war immer somehow “anders”.
