I’ve found that my musical tastes tend to center on virtuosic performances on unusual (or at least seemingly out of place in the genre) instruments. I think my reading preferences might follow a similar pattern where I prefer unusual styles often employed by many of the best writers. Examples to be listed below as I think of them.
