tesla.comWhat if the whole tube doesn’t need to be in vacuum, only in front of the train of pods?
Air handlers/pumps in front of the train create vacuum while air handlers/pumps behind the train create a higher pressure—move the air from the front to the back so friction doesn’t have to do the work
Play Jon Batiste music in pods during the trip and faster-paced music in the station
Intracity travel of the future is metro, efficient buses, autonomous car pods
Intercity travel of the future isn't cars (too slow, too space and energy inefficient), buses (also too slow), trains (way too slow, inconvenient stations), or planes (fast, but inconvenient and inconsistent) - it's tunnels.
Tunnels are
Fast
Not plagued by weather or gov
Review westward expansion in regards to time (horse took 3-4 days while train took 5 hours), money (cost of horse vs train), and convenience (weather, muddy roads vs covered carriages and tracks)
Then compare to hyperloop to planes and/or high speed trains
How were telegraph lines financed and constructed—meaning how were the line locations and destinations decided? Same questions for electrical lines
