Heaven

The vision God has set for the fulfillment of all time is that his glory will gleam in every nook and cranny of creation. Living to create an earthly legacy is a shortsighted goal. A wiser use of time is to build an eternal legacy. You weren’t put on earth to be remembered. You were put here to prepare for eternity.

And heaven will not be singing in mass choirs up in the clouds. Heaven will consist of real people living in a real creation, freed from all evil and misery and renewed in unimaginable beauty, because the Lord will be with us.

You will not be in heaven two seconds before you cry out, “Why did I place so much importance on things that were so temporary? What was I thinking? Why did I waste so much time, energy, and concern on what wasn’t going to last?”

We can reach heaven while we are alive; we don’t have to wait until we die. God is always present and the kingdom of heaven is everywhere, but first we need to have the eyes and ears to see and hear that truth. We need to be free of the parasite.

First, “heaven” will be on earth. This is where Revelation 21–22 locates the eternal state, but that fact often is missed by Bible readers. Eternal life will be lived out in a new Eden—a global paradise that fulfills God’s original

Not only are we going to heaven, but the moment we receive Christ heaven comes to us! We are a mobile House of God and carry the atmosphere and culture of Heaven wherever we go.
