You need to define a dream, a future, a life, with your significant other that’s WORTH building towards, that’s worth making sacrifices for, that makes it easy to have self control for. For my parents, it was escaping a life of poverty and debt and enabling a future for their kids that was never possible for them.
One thing is having taste, curation. Another thing is getting others to see that your taste is good and the things you highlight have value. That’s distribution
