Dan Da Dan
Love MoMo — so rare in anime to have a strong female lead who isn’t annoying and has emotional depth and complexity
I know, I sound like a man right now, but it’s true that we let down our women in anime
The last character I loved a great deal who I felt was a compelling, extremely well-written female character was Annie from AOT. Also Asuka from Neon Genesis. Complex characters with motivations that did not necessarily revolve around their male protagonist counterparts.
Honorable mentions: Power from Chainsaw Man. Also Makima but we know less about her. FMAB had good heroines (Winry, Riza, Izumi) but it’s been awhile since I’ve watched it AND ALSO that manga was written by a woman.
Bulma from Dragonball is good too.
Sakura from Naruto gets a lot of hate, but she has great character development throughout Shippudden. I think that her scenes with Naruto and Sasuke are the weakest simply because their story (ahem, love story) does not involve her or revolve around her. However, her scenes with Lady Chiyo vs Sasori were amazing and demonstrated her character very well.
Is this a Sakura post now? I digress
Very cute little love story
Episode 8 — new character added! Did not like her at first (who would) but she is growing on me and has a killer Yokai mode
