I’ve noticed that when people self-mythologize, they leave out the second half of this, implying that distribution solves itself if your love is powerful enough (and if it doesn’t work out, maybe you just didn’t love hard enough)

if you're insanely talented at something but nobody gets it, it's worth paying someone who's insanely talented at marketing/comms to translate, frame, package that talent into something that people appreciate
