Really upset about this because I’m starting to suspect it’s true. The other day I realized my brain fog dissipates and creativity increases when I follow some sort of a routine—which I’ve happily avoided all my life. I hate routines and schedules and have never felt like I needed them; I thought spontaneity would, if anything, help me flourish creatively. I regularly complete my tasks without a routine or plan, but I guess it comes at a steep cost: my creative output. Counterintuitively, it does seem like consistency and some degree of rigidity in the administrative side of one’s life might be necessary for a healthy creative life.
