You are the result of an energy that has organized itself out of the depths of vacuum space to create an entirely unique expression. One that has known itself since the origin of time and has decided its place to be witnessed, is here— on the miracle of our planet. Our existence has been a mere blip during all life on Earth—200,000 years in the face of billions. Yet there is a courageous graciousness that lives on within the structure of our biology. For the land tenders have never ceased to plant seeds and rewild ecosystems, the artists have continued onward with the act of creation, the nurturers have persisted with the vision of mending what is broken, and the protectors have maintained the vision of holding all that is sacred with sheer strength. The tension that has made burrows in the caves of our bodies is a paver of new paths. The cellular exhaustion that has spread its hands in the psyche of mankind is a redirection towards transformation. And we have the opportunity of not waiting. Not waiting until the death moment to excavate the fear, doubt, and shame. Not waiting to witness ourselves for who nature remembers us to be rather than who we have come to believe ourselves as. Today, let’s be willing. Willing to remember that life on Earth formed from noxious pools and volcanic activity. From conditions that seemed so far from habitable that what we know the Earth to be today is an absolute miracle. So let our brokenness be a lighthouse. One which reveals the possibility of humanity’s state to be a primordial seed capable of miracles. Today, let’s see ourselves. See ourselves in the reflection of the Earth’s mirror, in the grief of another human, in the joy of a child. For it is not only us that weep for the loss of our connection to all life—it is all beings. Yet from the rivers of grief that flow from all life, comes the mud which births the lotus. And perhaps the mess we have found ourselves in is the space where we will finally remember that we are creators—of beauty, regeneration, and repair.
