the moment you start to move culture, people will start to project onto you. They’ll misread you, meme you and debate you like you’re a theory, not a person. And if you don’t have a strong sense of self, or a support system that keeps you grounded, it’s easy to internalise it.

My working theory is that the internet only truly loves what you’re doing if another part of it absolutely hates what you’re doing. Hate is part of the hype cycle now.
