We must filter everything we read, hear, and see on the internet through our own values, opinions, and beliefs. We must invest in things that will truly allow us to live better and achieve the life we want, not those that we don’t even need or are beyond our normal budget, but in our minds can make us “like those other fancy girls.”

I believe it is always worth asking yourself these questions.

1. Do you want to have it, or do you want others to see that you have it (how does this relate to your values)?

2. Will it disrupt your finances and plans, and are you choosing it over something you really need?
