What Counts as Seeing
Saved by Keely Adler and
Imagine what your world might be like if your senses were tuned in an exquisitely different way. If your daily life was filled with sounds that were too loud, or lights that were too bright, smells too overpowering, clothes too scratchy, or tastes too powerful.
When we open ourselves to the voices of the more-than-human world, this is always the result: a breaching and collapsing of the established borders of thought and feeling.
Perhaps people who experience the world in ways that are considered atypical have an intuitive feeling for the limits of typicality.
