President Donald Trump plans to attend the NCAA’s wrestling championship in Philadelphia this Saturday, weeks after the association banned transgender women from participating in female sports.

Trump’s attendance at the championship is the latest in a notable pattern in his domestic travels since returning to office. He has made far fewer trips out of Washington except for visiting his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago. But when he has ventured out, it is usually to sporting events, including the Super Bowl and the Daytona 500.

Trump has long been a fan of wrestling and has used the sport to drive what became a central promise of his campaign: banning transgender women from competing in female sports.
