Most of the time, the simple guarantees are enough: tokens as vouchers (like gift cards), limits that protect the commons, relations spoken plainly, and swap routes that move value where it’s needed and back home to be fulfilled.

If a voucher moves and is redeemed, it’s valuable. If it gets stuck because the promise is unclear, the person is overextended, or the season is wrong, no timer fixes that. Stewardship does.

That shift replaces mystery with visibility and nourishes the shared pot with simple, transparent rules (like tiny swap fees, periodic share-outs) instead of a constant slow leak.
