Things I’m Thinking About In Healthcare Part 2

While I think the outlook for current practices looks bleak, I actually think the new era of independent practices will emerge out of this. Some guesses:

Accrue the efficiencies that tech can bring. If you’re just selling a tool then eventually you’ll handoff to the legacy healthcare system and most of those efficiencies will vanish. If you build a tech-enabled service from the ground up, you can build workflows for the services component that actually take advantage of the tech.

In time, the ratio of human work lessens, eventually getting closer to full automation even in areas which require a human specialist—i.e., where small mistakes can have disastrous effects—but likely not without a human somewhere in the loop, especially in areas that are particularly unforgiving to mistakes, such as diagnoses, drug prescriptions, o...
