chaos is often used as a means of pushing back. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, trust in global institutions has declined, economic volatility has heightened and populist politicians have seen rampant success. Chaos is the status quo in a volatile cultural climate.

No matter where we live in the world, then, it would be wise for us all to think carefully about the global chaos that is only beginning to consume us all. What is happening? Why is it happening? Where are we headed? What, if anything, can and should we do, individually and collectively?

The current instability of this world serves as a chronic perpetrator of anxiety for me.
