Start with recording their expertise—this is really important. I routinely search for people based on their skills and not their names. Gathering information about people is the key to collecting them.

People are experts about their passions, and they love what they are into. Knowing their passions will open up doors if you are sensitive to them. Collect passions and nourish possibilities of those who love them.

Don’t rely on expectations; just create as many opportunities as you can.

How do you mine relationships? Each person you know or meet metaphorically is a mine that contains knowledge, connections, and a source of possibilities. The more you know about that person and the more you memorialize what you know by databasing who they are, the more likely that relationship will bring value to you.
