The next big unlock for DAOs on Bankless

The decentralized economy will truly be unleashed.As we move towards a future with broadband liquidity, it becomes challenging to imagine what, exactly, that future looks like. While we know that deep liquidity will enable reliable pricing and less volatility, the implications are much more intriguing.

DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations - a topic for a future issue) are so important to this thesis because they become the new framework for a group of specialists to organize and coordinate.

DAOs – decentralized autonomous organizations – are an essential tool in achieving the self-empowering benefits of web3, including more equitable ownership among stakeholders, reduced censorship and greater diversity.

The org structure of DAOs looks like modern day cooperatives, but over the next decade I believe their scale and impact will rival some of the world’s largest public companies.

DAOs are open and permissionless, but still need new ways of determining who to trust, collaborate with, and reward.

We believe the future of work is based on one’s contribution to various organizations to which they feel most aligned. DAOs open up a new paradigm for democratic governance and mass coordination of people with similar interests and values, and as such, it’s core to our vision to be a DAO, ourselves, to help usher in this new era.

Essentially, DAOs are owned by the people who create value in them. This is a radical notion and one with real consequence; by expanding beyond the traditional notion of who should “own” an organization, DAOs empower a broad ecosystem to take action and create value on its behalf.
