If we are so short-sighted or arrogant as to suppose that we are firmly established on the earth, secure in our privileges, we are reminded of much greater nations in the past, who failed in their duty and were wiped out.

Every soul that has sinned, if it possessed all that is on earth, would fain give it in ransom: they would declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: but the judgement between them will be with justice, and no wrong will be done unto them.

the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter: their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.

enough for you to move yourselves away (from evil)?” Such men will find their abode in Hell,—What an evil refuge!—98 Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed—men, women, and children—who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to their way.

The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth—

then shall every soul receive its due,—whatever it earned,—and none shall be dealt with unjustly.
