If they are attempting to be logical, the first person will try to justify what they’re saying by constructing a logical argument to back it up. The second person should then either try to find a flaw in their logical argument, or try to construct their own logical argument to back up their assertion that the person is wrong.
Emotions tend to drive more extreme and biased views. But life is often more complex and full of grey areas. It’s OK not to have a clear opinion on something while
someone doesn’t get the logic of an argument intuitively, the best thing is usually to break down the argument into smaller steps, or to give some analogies, rather than to start appealing to abstract systems of rules.)
