For too long, Washington did too little to add new power to its grid. From 2005 to 2020, the United States added close to zero net new power. After U.S. President Joe Biden took office, in 2021, and passed a law subsidizing the construction of clean energy infrastructure, the country added more than 100 gigawatts in new capacity.
