"Philosophy cannot be taught; it is the application of the sciences to truth..." (the abbot Faria, The Count of Monte Cristo) I recommend instead reading fiction, a lot of fiction. It contains more truth than other works. Read memoirs pre-1900, biographies, but never summaries.
