Presence is primarily about being present and the very specific cues we give off when we are or are not fully present. It’s managing oneself with clarity and authenticity, and it’s about being supremely other-conscious.
Mindfulness means being very aware of what is going on right here, right now, in this interaction. It means being 100 percent present, and not distracted, disconnected, or multitasking.
Don’t be afraid to apologize and eat a little humble pie. Leaders who can own their moments of regret and do the right thing afterward can actually strengthen people’s perceptions of them.
