We all live multiple lives in one, and our sense of self continuously dies in the process. So when you feel some fundamental changes occurring within you (i.e. feeling disconnected from certain friends, being discontent with a job you’ve historically enjoyed, questioning your faith, etc.), don’t be too afraid.

One of the most popular topics I’ve discussed is the false premise of work-life balance, the notion that we should be able to perfectly balance our personal and professional responsibilities. Rather than balance, I believe what we really want is the ability to be truly present in our work and in our lives outside work—especially with our families.
