The acronym VUCA was coined by the US Army War College to describe the kinds of scenarios the military have been finding themselves in since the 1990s. The term has been adopted more recently by businesses and futurists because we all now live in a VUCA world: a domain of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity
“I’m unsure about the answer to this problem, but I can solve it by gathering more data. Once I gather more data related to the problem, I will be able to devise a solution.”
The US Department of Defense coined a new term in the 1990s: VUCA, which stands for volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.
