Karl Marx famously observed, “Philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point, however, is to change it.”

The higher the form of education, the narrower the social experience. Some students are pipelined to PhDs, while others are pipelined to prisons—and

the latest iteration of the mythical Black economy-to-freedom pipeline centers narrowly on African Americans’ economic power as consumers rather than as bankers or as producers.

So if elite capture is bigger than the most nefarious plans of the biggest villains, is it also bigger than the best intentions of those who oppose them?
