For those he foreknew he also predestined y to be conformed to the image of his Son, z so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. aa

No one undergoing a trial should say, “I am being tempted by God,” since God is not tempted by evil, and he himself doesn’t tempt anyone. 14 But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desire.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18

But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, r 20 for human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. 21 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, E humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. a 22 But b be doers of the word and not hearers only,

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.

And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; ab and those he justified, he also glorified. ac

Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown k of life that God D has promised to those who love him.

When Moses sent them to scout out the land of Canaan, he told them, “Go up this way to the Negev, then go up into the hill country. 18 See what the land is like, and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many. 19 Is the land they live in good c or bad?
