Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one's self-esteem.
That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all.

The intellectual movement currently taking over social media is important and yet somewhere along the lines I think we are losing the idea of it, or maybe it's just me. The point of gaining knowledge and critical thinking should not be to prove your superiority or means to show that you are more worthy because you know more.
