Realisation is not acquisition of anything new nor is it a new faculty. It is only removal of all camouflage.

Do not imagine it is you who are doing the work. Think that it is the underlying current which is doing it.
‘Why and to whom did this suffering come?’ If you question thus you will find that the ‘I' is separate from the mind and body, that the Self is the only eternal being, and that it is eternal bliss. That is jnana.
So first know who is tempted and who is there to tempt.
but simply being that which you always are and which you always have been.
