This week, live as a person of character. Live as a person of humility. How? Simply pay attention to whoever God puts in front of you.

My invitation to you this week is to practice the virtue of humility by thinking about others. Remember, humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. And we do that by paying attention.

The solution is not to remind yourself to “just be humble.” Instead, you need to pay attention. Just pay attention to the person in front of you.

To be humble—to not be thinking about myself—means I am paying more attention to you.

Gratitude is the second element of a humble person, and it follows naturally from honesty.

Humility, if anything, is honesty. Put simply, humility is nothing more than a willingness to tell the truth about yourself, life, and reality.

God is calling you to be a person of virtue, and one of the things it starts with is humility.

Becoming a person of character means becoming the person God is calling you to be.

we have to ask ourselves, What am I really going to live for? What are things I want to be true about me at the end of my life, no matter how young or old I am when I die? What will my character be?
