Whenever you catch yourself losing motivation on a project, look for the implicit “have to” in your thinking and make a decision at that moment to embrace the path—as it is, not the way you think it should be—or let go of it. It’s your choice.

🪱🌱👩🏻🌾 YOUR ENTIRE LIFE IS A CREATIVE ECOSYSTEM, OF WHICH YOUR ART PRACTICE IS JUST ONE THREAD 👩🏻🌾🌱🪱 When I think about my creative practice, I like to imagine that I am planting seeds, growing and nurturing many things at once in the dirt. I like to shift my focus away from the products of creative work, and center my attention on making the most fertile environment possible for my creative desires to suck up nutrients and grow 👶🏻🦋 If your life and creativity form a complex and interconnected network... what area of your life needs extra tending and attention and care so that the entire ecosystem thrives more? What are some shifts you can make to fertilize the soil, so that the entire ecosystem thrives more? 🐛🦎🌿 -- P.S. I'll be sharing similar mindset shifts in my upcoming creativity webinar 🌀YOUR CREATIVE ENERGY IS AN EROTIC SPELL: HOW TO HARNESS PLEASURE, POWER, AND RITUAL IN MANIFESTING YOUR IDEAS INTO REALITY🌀 livestreaming this Sunday 5/01. Along with mindful meditation, guided visualizations, and journaling prompts, we'll also be learning concrete rituals to inject your creative practice with more pleasure and magic. Your job is to focus on what you actually do in the real world, as well as on what you want to achieve, and then slot the steps toward those priorities into realistic time frames. Blaming yourself and letting the Should Monster take over is worse than useless: It slows down your progress.
