I believe that the pursuit of being “well-informed” and “educated” has, ironically, made us worse listeners. Worse at curiosity, worse at separating ourselves from our stances. Because when intellect hardens into identity, it leaves little room for humility; in trying to perform intelligence, we may actually drift further from it.
